About us

The story so far...

The Apple Tree was born in March 2012 by me Lucy. After many years B.C (before children) working in sales and marketing I found it hard to get back into work after having my two girls, would accommodate a hard working husband and enable me to take and pick up my children from school. That's how The Apple Tree was born. I've always loved little treasure trove shops so despite a lot of people saying I was crazy to open a shop in the 2012 climate... I did it. You can't have regrets...right?

Despite loving treasure trove gift shops I've always hated the clinical silence of wandering around a shop so thought it'd be a good idea to incorporate a teahouse to make the shop a more welcoming and cosy environment.

We started small with a few gifts on the shelves and a kitchen the size of a postage stamp and now we've grown to warrant a extension to the teahouse, employ 10 members of staff and have a shop full of fabulous cards, gifts, jewellery and a pantry area with specialist Gin's. The team her are passionate, humble and incredible bakers which I truly hopes shines when you visit us.
